Sputnik, I have no problem with the existing rules of this blog. I have also been active in trying to get a wide variety of other people to contribute so that there is a diversity in discussion, opinion, belief etc. Regarding past threads in January and February my own approach to blogging is to not consider these as dead, I don't feel that resolution or in fact some of my questions were answered in these and further discussion is always good to broaden thinking etc. Is there anyway the site can be modified to highlight when new comments have been added? I tend to visit each thread and check but as you say this can be laborious! I am enjoying this process it is both cathartic, challenging and informative. I will continue to spread the word and try and encourage new contributors.
yes, in an ideal world, the posts with the most recent comments would be at the top of the page. im not sure what blogger is capable of, but ill look into it.
sorry, i retract the word 'dead', and replace it with the word 'dormant'. i dont mean the posts are finished, of course they are open ended. what i mean is, if a post has sat 'dormant' for a long time, i wont check it unless someone tells me, in a recent post, that they have added to it.
sometimes i have a new view, on an old issue, months after everyone else has finished talking about it!
also, i think it is unlikely that a post with 20+ comments will be read by a new visitor.
Sputnik, Excellent well done I see that a new column has been added showing recently updated threads - brilliant! I guess my thought was that perhaps in the 'rules' regular bloggers or visitors could be encouraged to peruse the historical threads and contribute should they wish. This would be good and would prevent them becoming discussions between the two of us, additional views and perspectives will enhance and broaden the experience!! I agree too sometimes it is good to reflect upon a subject before contribution I guess like pc's this can depend on your processing speed!
